Today I invited one rad mom-blogger Danielle over to answer some questions. Can I just say that I hope I am even half as cool as she is, when I become a mama?! I hope so! She has an incredibly well written blog known as:
DBD- How did you get started with blogging/business?
I’ve had a Livejournal since the 90s, and just a few years ago I made the transition over to Blogger. I’ve always been a writer, and love documenting by nature, so moving into actual “blogging” was a natural step and it pretty much just happened over time. I’ve realised that I can make a decent income by blogging so I am focussing on growing my audience. However, when one wants to take blogging as a professional income, there are various metrics including relying on reliable hosting platforms (check out wpx reviews here, if interested), SEO-friendly content, an established website, and so on that needs to be considered. As for me, I wanted to grow my audience organically so I’m relying on word-of-mouth and my social media profiles to get new people coming in. I’ve heard services like Growthoid can help to grow your following, so if I don’t manage to do it organically, perhaps I’ll go down that route. I’ve done everything I can to optimize my social medias, including putting a linktree alternative in my Instagram bio that shows them all my online sites. Hopefully it works!
There are so many benefits to being a blogger and getting this online following really helps me to be able to create more content and gain more opinions from people who enjoy reading my blog. This is why I tend to get help from services like Task Ant as they curate links specifically to cater towards your content.
DBD- What are your main sources for inspiration?
My main sources for inspiration are all around me. The way the sun comes through the just green spring leaves, a long walk on a Sunday afternoon, a great song, or a beautiful blog. I get ideas as I’m just doing day to day normal things, and I hope that never changes.
DBD- What are the two most favorite projects you’ve done?
I really love the feature I’m doing right now, 8 Weeks to a Better Me.
I also have enjoyed my Mama/Baby style posts thus far.
DBD- What do you think is the new ‘hot’ thing in design right now?
Hmm…I’m not much of a designer, so this is tough to answer, but I’d say just taking things back to a simple look, allowing things to happen organically and in turn producing a more natural, streamlined look…that’s what I see.
DBD- What is one thing you could not live without?
Can I pick two? My hubby and baby boy. They are the best things that have ever happened to me, and it’s insane how much bigger my heart has gotten since having our son. I absolutely could not live without either of my boys.
Thanks for taking the time out of your crazy schedule to write this Danielle! Your family and your blog are both perfect! Friends, be sure to check back in tomorrow to see what other AZ blogger I will introduce:)
