Dream Book Design

A little off topic: Cooking Club

So I know this is generally a DIY design blog, but I figured, WHO DOESNT LOVE FOOD?

I LOVE to cook.

I LOVE to eat delicious food.

I LOVE to spend time with incredible girlfriends.

I LOVE that my girlfriend Kelly and I just started a cooking club!

Last night was the first night of cooking club. It was only the four of us {some couldn’t come}, but it was still so amazing. We made some food at our own houses, and some food at my house. Some of us prepared by looking at a food blog or two, some of us went in blind. Some brought an {unknowingly} terrible wine, and some really great wine. We ate way too much, seriously, way too much. We laughed a lot, we had quiet conversations, loud conversations, and at moments none because all of our mouths were full. We bonded over food, over conversation, and over wine. All in all, I loved the start of cooking club!

Our idea was this:

  • Make food separate and together
  • Make dishes that we have never made
  • Make dishes to fit the nights theme
  • Exchange the recipes at nights end
  • Have so much fun
{Where I got these beautiful recipe cards}
I found these amazing recipe cards that I think I’ll use for every club, and the best part is that they were FREE. I love free!

The ladies of the evening
K cooking up a storm-so yummy

Now for the best part-eating
Aren’t they just so beautiful
Boomer joined us for dinner{please don’t remind me of how big he is, because he is still my baby:)}

Heres where I need your input people- Have any of you ever done a cooking club, seen one in action, anything? If so- please give me any feedback you have. We want this to be the best thing ever and would love some advice on great things to do as a “club”. Thanks so much! Love you all!

<3,
Adri

    What a fun idea!
    Unfortunately I haven’t been in a “cooking club.” I would love to learn more recipes, tricks, and go-to dishes so this is something I should discuss with my gals.

    Some friends and I did get a chef and a couple of his helpers to come to one house and cook for us. I’ve heard of similar dinners where you watch the chef make the dish and try your hand at making it, but we didn’t do that. We got the royal treatment and were served a 10-course meal (phew!), and he provided us with recipes for all of the dishes at the end. It was AWESOME (but expensive).

    This is a great idea! I love that you are doing it! Cute pictures too, and the one of you holding boomer, your “baby” made me laugh really hard!

    BTW- I think you should totally include cooking as part of the blog… cooking is totally part of the home, something you love and are passionate about… I think it would be an awesome addition. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Love this idea! I think you should share with us the best recipe of the night, so we too can partake! ๐Ÿ™‚
