Thrift Store Finds

Yesterday on our anniversary I did what any other girl would do, go thirfting;) And guess what? I Found some amazing stuff..must have been the luck of the day!

To start, I give you this beauty! Have you ever seen a saddle on a purse?! JUST KIDDING. I did not buy this, but was kinda tempted to, just for the humor of it

This however was real find for me. I saw it and instantly thought of a rad wall hanging, so I did what I do every time I find something, and I texted J asking his opinion. He said,  “Thats totally perfect for your clothes hanger in the laundry room”. Genius I tell ya, thats totally why I married him. His brain and his looks;) This piece is old wood slats and it opens up, giving us a ton of options at to how we are going to end up using it. So excited!
Next up, a fun little card catalog-esque cabinet. Not to sure if we will keep this but it will be fun to use in the mean time.
I was so happy when I found a ton of embroidery hoops for cheap because I have had this project in mind for awhile, and then it went in to over-gear when I saw this photo on Tip Junkie the other day:

I got all of these hoops for only $5. I am so happy that they are almost all different shapes and sizes, because I wanted something a little different from the ‘norm’.

And finally, this beauty ahead. No joke, yesterday morning I woke up from a text from J saying “Your post was perfect this morning because look what I found on my run this morning….”

Yep, he found this amazing old door just sitting on the side of the road. It is solid wood and solid beauty! The plan for now is to make this the door to the laundry room, possibly ‘fog’ up the glass part and put a laundry decal of some sort on it. What did I tell ya about him loving me with garage sale {or side of the road} finds!! The timing was just too perfect:)

Thats it for now, but you know I will be back out thrifting again in no time! Hope you all have had a great start to your week.
<3,
Adri

I am so jealous of the card catalog cabinet. I have been searching high and low. Etsy has them for around $30.00. Great find! If you wanna sell and ship to me, let me know:)

Wow, you might have to teach me your thrifting ways!!! I love all of your goodies and your hubby bragged to me at work about the door he found on the side of the road during his run. I was a little weirded out by that comment but now that I see it, great find! 🙂 Happy Anniversary yesterday!!!

I am more of a blog stalker and love your ideas! I just had to comment when I saw the saddle purse. My mom had one when she was growing up! By the time we (her kids) came around the saddle was taken off the purse and I remember we would play with it by strapping it onto our stuffed animals. How funny…love thrifting. Probably one of my favorite things to do. You never know what awesome treasures you will find.

    Thanks guys!
Denise- I’ll let you know what we end up doing with it! Thanks for the offer:)
JandJ- I would have to agree!
Courtney- I am jealous of my free door too! Haha, just in the sense that it always seems to be my hubby that finds the rad free stuff!
Kristin-haha of course he bragged at work! It really is cool though, im so excited to get it in there! Miss u and your nonexistent bump:)
Kristi-NO WAY!! that is too freaking funny! I honestly kind of am tempted to go back and get it now, so that some day my {future} kids could do the same! haha
Melina- Stop it!! I love it! What type of reactions do you get from it?
Meg- The main one I go to is off of thomas and i think 56th st. Its always hit or miss though. I also went to a goodwill and salvation army that day. The cabinet thing is from salvation.

For some reason I like those card catalog thingys. I’ve been mulling an idea to use a smaller one as a shelf ledge in home office or wall mounted in my kids room as a nightstand (so it doubles as a shelf or table with built in drawers). Keeping my eye out for some at thrift stores…would need to spray paint a rad color and then…figure out a way to wall mount it? Any ideas on wall mounting these puppies?

I love Savers. And the Goodwill near Crismon and Southern is a really good one.

That is really a great idea. You might transform your door with the used of that cheap and standard materials.
