Are you guys ready to ‘owe’ me for life? You better be, because I am about to introduce you to the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I have ever found. They don’t make those huge gooey, thick, cookies, which i’m not all about. This recipe makes the most perfect, soft-yet crisp, cookie. The recipe is from I am Baker, one of my most favorite baking blogs..ever.

Here is her recipe with some of my modifications:
2 cups minus 2 tablespoons (8 1/2 ounces) cake flour
1 2/3 cups (8 1/2 ounces) bread flour
*I used the 2 cups minus 2 TBL. cake flour, but skipped the bread flour {because I never seem to have any} and used whole wheat all purpose flour instead.
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons coarse salt
2 1/2 sticks (1 1/4 cups) unsalted butter
1 1/4 cups (10 ounces) light brown sugar
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons (8 ounces) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/4 pounds chocolate chips
*I used milk and semi sweet chocolate.
I also sprinkle coarse sea salt on the tops of the cookies. Oh my heavens, salted chocolate chip cookies are my ultimate weakness. Another little tip… make the whole recipe. Yes, it is huge, but that way you can bake as many as you need ASAP and then freeze the rest. I simply use a cookie scoop and place them on a baking sheet and stick them in the freezer over night. That way when you go to bake them at a later date, they are already scooped out. There is nothing worse than trying to scoop cookies from a huge frozen chunk of dough. J all the time sometimes goes in and eats them frozen even!
So yes, this post isn’t anything DIY design, but man oh man, it won’t matter once you make these cookies! Thank you I am Baker for introducing me to my all time go-to chocolate chip cookies!
