I then mixed in my jar of cream cheese frosting, again really hard:
I then rolled them in to perfect little cakepop balls. Not really perfect, since again, I am for sure not a perfectionist, but they were good enough.
Then I dipped my lollipop stick in to a little bit of the frosting and stuck it in to the cakepop, easy-peasy:
This is when Bray woke up from his should have been TWO hours 45 minute nap, I unsuccessfully tried to get him to sleep longer in the Ergo:
This is when it all went to crap. I attempted the dipping in the frosting part. Every.single.time. the cakepop would either come off the stick or crumble completely. And thats when I gave up and decided I was going to get the most delicious doughnut holes ever from Bosa doughnuts for the baby shower dessert.

I had a few cake pop fails before I figured it out 🙂 My humble tips: I only use about 3/4 of the can of frosting, make the balls a little smaller than you think and freeze them before dipping. My cake balls are never drop dead gorgeous, but they taste pretty good 🙂

You just totally summed up my feelings on cooking over baking! Sorry the cake pops didn’t work out! But now I guess you have a bunch of half finished cake pops to yourself. Is that a good thing??

My mom did cake pops for my baby shower back in June. She did all the hard stuff, I just decorated the,. Then when I went to make them myself the next time I thought I would take the easy way out and use boxed cake mix and frosting. I learned it should all be made from scratch. Anyways, this is how the first cake pops turned out ……

After putting the sticks in – freeze them for a while. It will work every time then. You look great! Have fun this weekend

Yeah, it worked really well when I froze my cake pops before I decorated them and again RIGHT after I dipped them in chocolate so they set once more. Hope the shower goes well today, fingers crossed for rain tomorrow so I can be there for that shower 🙂

I had to make around 200 for a graduation party. I first bought a 19 cake pop. I then after making cake pops dipped stick in frosting and then place in fridge for about 20 minutes. They iced beautifully. They still took forever…but it worked.

What’s the matter with cup cakes? I think we are all falling into a Pinterest/Blogger Death Trap. They make everything seem easy. After 40 years of being an adult, I still can’t make pie crust. I just buy really, really good pies. (and cakes) I know my limitations. I Love the Dogs on the Furniture. Even if you didn’t have a baby, it probably wouldn’t have worked. Ann
