This Sunday was one week of being in the new house! So far, so good, and so much to do:) We’re glad it all worked out in the end, especially as we know how hard moving house can be. There’s just so much that goes into it, like trying to find cheap homeowners insurance in PA (location varies), sorting out finances and setting up a mortgage. But once everything is sorted, saying that you have the house of your dreams will be an achievement. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, I had a massive panic that we wouldn’t be able to move everything in time, but there are so many companies out there, like these Bellevue movers who can make the whole transition of moving a lot easier! And now look at us, one week in and we’re all settled.
Its pretty amazing how different this move-in was from our old house. In the old house we moved boxes in, got our bed put together, and that was it for a long while. I think it might be because we had a better, more reliable removal company to help us with bringing all our stuff over to the new house. My friend also recently moved house and had a great experience. She lives in England and had a look at Removal Van Quotes From Compare The Man & Van that she said made her experience better. We went straight in to wainscoting, baseboard, painting, etc. With having a baby, thats just not super possible for us. Bray is a mobile machine, so in turn we need to make sure that the spaces that he spends time in is safe {and hopefully clean}. Also, we have been dealing with some health issues with J, which has definitely put starting on door trim and baseboards {our first two things on our to-do list} on the back burner for a second.
I cannot even tell y’all just how much I adore our closet. There is room for everything of mine, AND I can let J keep his stuff in there too;)
The family room:
The kitchen:
Oh it is amazing. We haven’t installed the backsplash or hardware yet, but other than that- its mainly finished.
We are going to eventually make a massive farmhouse dining table, but until then we got a great ‘filler’. I am going to recover the chairs just in case it takes a little longer than we anticipate for the real table.
The living room:
This is the room that you see when you first walk in the front door. This is going to remain our project room for awhile. Tools, painting crown and baseboard, etc. We honestly have no idea design wise what we are going to do in here.
This will eventually be the play room. It is probably 2nd lowest on the list in terms of how fast it will get finished though. In the end though this room is going to be so awesome. We have a ton of ideas for making the room not only aesthetically pleasing, but also totally fun and functional for kids.
This room is last on the list of things to-do, since it is future baby #2s room, and thats not happening for awhile!
Some little details that are already in the house that I am loving are our door knobs. We actually got them at Anthro, and they are just what we were imagining.
I purposely didn’t put up any of Brays room yet, since that room is actually almost 100% finished-so I figured I would wait till its all done! Hope you guys like what you see so far. We probably have about a good 9 months of work ahead of us, and we cannot wait to see how it all comes out.
Have you been doing any new house projects lately that you want to share? Please leave a link! I would love some inspiration:)

I am so jealous of the open floor plan! So nice to be able to see Bray as he is walking around (soon enough with out the walker). My twins are turning 1 next week… and it happens all too fast!
My husband and I are planning on tackling our backyard this summer… so no projects quite yet, but soon enough!

I know- I love it! Its so fun seeing him cruise around. I cannot even imagine him walking, although I know it will happen in the blink of an eye. Congrats on the first bday!!!!!! Such an accomplishment!

Loving all your space. Great rugs, throughout. Where did the green one in the office come from? Also what happened to your old dining set from your old house. Love the new set too.
adrianne says
Thanks Amy. We got all of our new rugs from Rugs USA on Cyber Monday. Everything was 75% off so we literally bought every rug we need! Haha! We actually sold our old dining set to the couple that purchased our home. They loved it and we knew we would need something longer than that table. The new one that we will build will be somewhat similar though:)

The house is looking great! Not sure if you guys follow Sandra from Sawdust Girl, but she has similar building style to what you guys like. Here is a post she did on her office in her old house, thought it would give you guys the extra storage space you might need in your new office. Keep up the good work!

Awesome Shannon, thanks!! Just checked it out. SHe is talented! We are really wanting to be able to still use the desk we have though, so we will have to figure out something else. Thanks though!

That is going to be such an interesting house. But where is your dining room table that you made from the drafting table, and the card catalog, and the factory cart coffee table? Take your time buying furniture, you will find better pieces that way. But it doesn’t hurt to give a few things a coat of paint on a temporary basis, like your bathroom. It doesn’t take too long to cover chair seats, and something new and bright will make you feel better. Does Bray laugh uncontrollably like a lot of babies do? If he does, how about a video? Thanks Ann

Thanks Ann. We actually sold our old dining set to the couple that purchased our home. They loved it and we knew we would need something longer than that table. The new one that we will build will be somewhat similar though:) We still have the card catalog but havent moved it out of storage yet. That thing weighs a million and one pounds so were waiting until the space its going in is finished, so we only have to move it once! We sold the miners cart to the new owners as well, it was not kid friendly in ANY way!:( I will for sure post a video of Brays giggles, they are the best!!! Thanks for loving on him:)

It really does look great for one week in, you must have either been really organised when you moved or worked very hard in the last few days. Well done guys. I really like the furniture in your office, are the heirlooms?
