After going through the long and tedious process of looking for a house, viewing it, and then deciding whether or not to put an offer in, we were finally able to settle on a home that we both loved. I know, surprising right? I’ve never been a huge fan of the home buying process, so before we even started looking, I decided to ask my friend who, at the time, had just bought a house of her own. She told me that it was important that we take our time, make sure we know what we want, as well as getting in touch with a professional like this oregon real estate agent who will be able to offer a helping hand when it comes to navigating us through the process.
According to her, she’d never have got her dream home if she hadn’t taken the help and expertise of a professional and reliable real estate agent, and that we should try to do the same. And lo and behold, we did! Now, with big smiles on our faces, we can finally say that we’ve moved into a really great house. But this wasn’t the end of our hard work (and stress).
When we moved into this new house, we knew that the kitchen would need some serious work which we thought long and hard about, even planning to renovate the windows using services from here so it looked more updated. It was quite old-fashioned and it wasn’t really our style, so we were aware that we’d have to change it at some point. It appears that the time has come to make those changes, so we’re saying goodbye to this kitchen design and getting started on making a modern kitchen. It took so long to start these remodels as we wanted to get settled first and make sure that all of our possessions had homes. When Man and van london dropped off all of our stuff from the old house, we needed to put it all away before we made any more mess with the kitchen. Now, we’re all settled, so the kitchen is at the top of our list. To me, the kitchen is the most important space in a home. It is where I spend most of my time, and I know that will only continue even more with the more food Bray eats. I love for the space to be beautiful, calm, classic, but most of all- functional. The kitchen right now is in serious need of love…serious need.
We’ve got a few key things in mind.
- Subway Tile backsplash
- Cambria “Torquay” counters
- Grey lower cabinets, white upper cabinets
- Demo has started, J pulled up all the carpet in the house last night, and we are full steam ahead! Thanks so much for all the encouragement and joy you shared with us on the new house tour post. It means a ton to us that you guys are excited with us. Cannot wait to have more progress and share it all with you. Happy weekend:)

So excited for you and your family in your new digs; and can’t wait to see all the transformations. I am re-doing my kitchen now, too. Wondering what you are selecting for sink fixtures, just in case I want to copy. 🙂 I just can’t seem to fall in love with anything.

I’m not sure if you’ve stumbled across For the Love of a House? She has done the most incredible job of renovating their old farm. She did put marble in, http://fortheloveofahouse.blogspot.ca/2011/01/kitchen.html?m=1
Thought you might like to take a look!
