The chandelier is also from Lowes, and it is actually the chandelier we have currently hanging in the kitchen. That baby is trading spaces and making its new home the laundry room. What girl doesn’t want a chandelier in her laundry room?! The drying rack is from Centsational Girls blog. Love her! She has a tutorial on how to build your own drying rack, which is exaclty what I intend to do. Who knew that the HUBBY in the marriage would have more ‘line dry’ items than the wife?!
The second reason why that picture makes me smile is the fact that the laundry room will be their new hangout while were out of the house {their doggy door is in there to the backyard as well}. Also, because now they won’t be slopping up their water on our wood floors. Boomer and his freaking flaps leave a trail of water that goes a mile long! Hallelujah to no more water on the wood.
The final photo is a example of shelving I would love. It has a flat space for storing jars, products, etc. but the best part is that cord that runs underneath. I could hang that over the washer/dryer and be able to air dry clothes even while the dogs are in there. With the other drying rack I will have to make sure that the clothes are off of it before we leave. My friend told me that they found their washer/dryer through at review online, more here if you’re interested by the way. Our pups have a cute terrible sense of humor with taking our clothes, towels, shoes, whatever they can find- and making them into toys in the backyard. Having a cord over the washer/dryer= no puppy interference.
The overall feel of the new laundry room is going to be clean, crisp, refreshing, with a splash of elegance and rustic-ness {that’s totally not a word, and I totally don’t care!} You might not hear anything more about it for a little while, considering the kitchen makeover is still going, but-I am so excited!
Any of you out there have a laundry room makeover? Helpful tips? Fun DIY’s? I would love to hear them…

I am literally in the middle of a laundry room remodel (and bathroom addition and kitchen floor, ugh). Our space didn’t change, but a new washer/dryer, floor, paint, and shelving, etc. We’re almost done with the big stuff on this one. I am so glad you posted about this, I have been looking for a DIY rack that is a fold-away. Thanks!!
