I’m not doing a normal post today because I have had a lame headache all day long, and have been at my parents doing laundry all day long {yep, no washer/dryer working over here still}. BUT I do want to ask y’all if you have any favorite quotes or verses that have impacted you in some way. We are working on a pretty cool project for the kitchen and are going to use either a quote or verse on it, and would love some input. Give me what you got, anything and everything. Thanks!!
<3,
Adri
P.S.- I feel totally weird not posting a picture, that goes to show how I feel right about now. Boo.

One I’ve seen on many blogs is “Keep calm and carry on”, and I have no clue who to attribute it to!

I LOVE Wendy’s quotes! Here are some of my favorites:
From Socrates:
Εν οίδα ότι ουδέν οίδα. (Hen oida hoti ouden oida.) Which means: All I know is I know nothing.
Here are a few others:
In the childhood memories of every good cook there’s a large kitchen, a warm stove, a simmering pot, and a mom. – Barbara Costikyan
Mark Twain:
Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand.
… and…
A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way.
The Princess Bride:
You can’t hurt me. Westley and I are joined by the bonds of love. And you cannot track that, not with a thousand bloodhounds, and you cannot break it, not with a thousand swords. – Princess Buttercup
Westley: Can you move at all? Buttercup: Move? You’re alive. If you want I can fly.
The famous marriage scene: Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam… And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva… So tweasure your wuv.
There may be many flowers in a man’s life, but there is only one rose. – Anon
No matter how ugly you think you are, that special someone that loves you believes you are the most beautiful and irresistible thing on earth and nothing can ever change that. – Anon
I can never choose just one quote from JM Barrie:
You know that place between sleeping and awake, that place where you can still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always think of you.
When the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies.
Dreams do come true, if only we wish hard enough. You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it.
Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.
The reason birds can fly and we can’t is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings.
God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December.
If you have it [love], you don’t need to have anything else, and if you don’t have it, it doesn’t matter much what else you have.
The secret of happiness is not in doing what one likes, but in liking what one does.
Oh, the cleverness of me!
L. Frank Baum:
Never give up. No one knows what’s going to happen next.
If i ever go looking for my hearts desire I won’t look any farther than my own backyard. Because if it isn’t there I never really lost it to begin with.
There’s no place like home.
And remember, my sentimental friend, that a heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.
Madeleine L’Engle (my most favorite author):
That’s the way things come clear. All of a sudden. And then you realize how obvious they’ve been all along.
Truth is eternal. Knowledge is changeable. It is disastrous to confuse them.
If it can be verified, we don’t need faith…. Faith is for that which lies on the other side of reason. Faith is what makes life bearable, with all its tragedies and ambiguities and sudden, startling joys.
We’re afraid to be human because if we’re human we might get hurt. When we were children, we used to think that when we were grown-up we would no longer be vulnerable. But to grow up is to accept vulnerability…. To be alive is to be vulnerable.
It’s a good thing to have all the props pulled out from under us occasionally. It gives us some sense of what is rock under our feet, and what is sand.
The great thing about getting older is that you don’t lose all the other ages you’ve been.
And, let’s not forget:
Always look on the bright side of life. – Monty Python
I’m SO SORRY I have so many! :O)

Hello! If this is going into your new kitchen, a quote that I love from Virginia Wolf might be perfect. “One can not think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well”. I have it printed on a cool bowl that I have mounted on a wall in my dining room. 🙂
