Let me introduce y’all to a beautiful lady Katie. Katie and I actually met in a Human Communication course at ASU. Both of us weren’t really into making friends in class, since a lot of people at ASU aren’t our cup of tea {or at least, not my cup of tea..shouldn’t speak for Katie!}. We quickly became friends, then the course was over, and I thought that was that. A few years later I saw that Katie started a fashion/style blog through updates on Facebook, and I had to see what it was all about. Let me tell you, her blog is amazing. She is always positive, charming, and stunning! Welcome Katie from…
DBD- How did you get started with blogging/business?
I started my blog, Running on Happiness, on a whim one day, right at the end of 2010 after I received a DSLR camera as a Christmas gift. I was so inspired by other people’s blogs (like Dream Book Design) that I wanted to create my own blog to channel my own positivity into. It has become a passion of mine and I have been dedicated to it ever since.
DBD- What are your main sources for inspiration?
I feel as though I do my best thinking when I am driving in my car listening to music. Music inspires me. The beauty of Arizona inspires me with its desert landscapes and picture perfect sunsets. I feel like I draw so much in from the earth and I always try to find the beauty in everything. I am also inspired by the creativity of other women, particularly other women bloggers, the boho vibe, and most importantly, I’m inspired by love and happiness.
DBD- What are the two most favorite outfit posts you’ve done?
I really like the retro outfit I put together with the high-waisted shorts, sandals and stripes.
I also like the outfit I put together with my white jeans and chambray shirt I found at Forever21. My style is pretty simple and I try to mix it up with small details such as a pop of color, interesting print, a high waist, or a fun accessory.
DBD- What do you think is the new ‘hot’ thing in style right now?
I feel like fashion is always changing. For me, right now, I am loving the soft, feminine, boho vibe of clothes, such as neutrals on neutrals, lace and floral prints. I also love high waisted pants/shorts and the whole 70’s revival. What’s old is new again.
DBD- What is one item of clothing you could not live without?
I could not live without a good fitting pair of jeans. Those are a definite wardrobe staple and a pair that fits just right is hard to come by. I am always on the search for the perfect pair. I love my JBrands.
Be sure to stop on over at her blog and say hi!
Even though the bloggers series is over now, I have another amazing one starting tomorrow!
Thats right! I am finally doing the post that so many of you have asked repeatedly for. Not only will I be listing where J and I shop, but also showing some current photos of whats in the stores. I can’t wait to give y’all a tour through some of our favorites:)
