With summer winding down, and Labor Day BBQs coming up, I am all about a refreshing drink that also gets me excited for whats to come! You see, in AZ the temps stay like summer for what seems like forever! So while the rest of the world may be gearing up for Fall with their cute sweaters and scarves, we are still barefoot in shorts over here. So to make that sting a little less, I came up with a delicious Caramel Apple Sangria drink. It is super refreshing, while also being filled with anticipation and caramel! It is the perfect drink for what I call “Spritzer Season”. The time of year when the sun is still shining bright, fun memories are being made at gatherings, and cold drinks in awesome glasses are in demand!
The awesome thing about Sangria in general is the ability to make it however you would like it! Peach Sangria? Wells thats a fave of ours! Traditional Red Sangria? Love that too! But this one puts an extra fun twist on it. It stays light and refreshing by using the Barefoot Refresh Crisp White Spritzer, but also oozes warm and cozy with that caramel rim!
Recipe:
1 Bottle Barefoot Refresh Crisp White Spritzer
2 Apples cored and chopped
2 Cups Apple Cider
6 oz Caramel flavored Vodka
Caramel sauce for rims of glasses {this is my favorite one}
Directions:
Simply chop up the apples and mix all liquids together. Let sit in the refrigerator for at least three hours before serving. Immediately prior to pouring, dip rim of glass in caramel sauce! That’s it- easy as can be! We put this sangria in our favorite double walled, stemless wine glasses. We LOVE these glasses because while they still look elegant and classy, they are super sturdy and durable!!
