Cheap And Easy Easter Basket

Its official, I am a lover of holidays. I especially love holidays now having Bray, but that still doesn’t change one thing about me- I am frugal. By that I mean I don’t want to spend money of silly stuff that doesn’t really matter/make a difference. Easter is a perfect example of that. I could have gone out and ordered an adorable monogramed Pottery Barn Easter basket and called it a day, but I didn’t. To me, I want him to have a cute basket, but I would rather spend my money on whats inside those cute little eggs.

With all that being said, I went to Goodwill. Yep, a thrift store for an Easter basket. And..I totally scored.

Wicker basket- $1.49

Green ‘grass’ paper- $1.99

Decorative eggs from Walmart-$1.97

I initially wanted to put some sort of cute Easter-ish book in his basket, but then realized he already has 50+ books, and maybe I should hold off on getting any more until he is an age where he actually likes reading/being read them instead of just chewing on them;) So instead, I went a simple and practical route..food.

I filled each of his eggs with his two favorite treats:

He gets the puffs every few days, mainly when I need to buy myself some time to get a meal ready, but he rarely gets the yogurt melts- so those for sure are a treat to him! Love that my little man will eat absolutely anything {yes, yes, I know that will change some day- but for now, I am taking full advantage}.

So there you have it, a basket and grass from a thrift store. Eggs from Walmart, filled with healthy treats. Easy, cheap, and good for him:)

What do you put in your kids Easter baskets? I so wish he was walking already so we could really do an Easter egg hunt. Next year for sure:)

Look at how thrifty you are!!! Great finds. I did pick up a few little things for Wnrh but was also planning the puffs in the eggs. Although now I may néed to try melts. Never had ten.
