While the rest of my house may be quite messy, I am happy to say that I have most of my Christmas decorations up around the mantel. Every year I go through the same thing while decorating. Loving that I have some decorations that have meaning and memory to them, but at the same time wanting to just run out to Target and buy out their perfectly curated Christmas decorations. Do you struggle with that at all? Wanting it all to be just so perfect and cohesive, but also wanting to use some of the cheesy meaningful ones as well? For instance, I love the Wise Men Still Seek Him sign that my sweet sister-in-law made for me, but that Nativity isn’t my favorite. I think it is important to have a Nativity shown though, so it will just have to do:)
I brought back out the No-Sew sweater stockings I made last year, and luckily love them just as much this year! And I can’t wait to start filling Braylen and Winston’s with fun little goodies. The jingle bells are still one of my most favorite things I have ever found at Goodwill!
The shelves got full pretty quickly with the combo of old items, handmade items like my Anthro knock off Snow Globes, and pinecones. Pinecones are one of my favorites for Christmas decorating. They are free {and Braylens favorite thing ever to collect on our walks}, add great texture, and are all different enough to add character to bunches of them.
And I am embarrassed to admit this, but we still don’t have our tree. We went Sunday to get it from Costco and they were SOLD OUT. Most depressing thing ever because they have the best prices for the BEST trees ever. We have since planned on going two other times and really random things came up. So THURSDAY- Thursday we are getting it no matter what! But in the mean time, I put my favorite little vintage Christmas Tree in the spot where the tree will go.
Thats it for now. In a little bit I will show you what we have going on in the dining room! Theres a really awesome DIY project involved that I am dying to show you guys!
