Decorating With Kitchen Utensils

Do you guys have some decorations in your house that not only look great, but also serve a double purpose? I love when we have something up on the walls, sitting on a buffet, or hanging from a matel, that serves a double purpose. Not only does it look cute, but you can also actually use it. We recently put up our two trivets and a bottle opener on the kitchen wall.

The two trivets are an amazing gift from my sister. She got them at an antique store in Northern AZ, and they are so perfect. I am not a huge fan of normal trivets, although I do enjoy this cork one I just found:

The middle Fleur De Lis is a bottle opener, clever right?! That one was a gift as well, man I have great friends and family:)

Not only do we love that it adds decor to the kitchen, while keeping it functional as well, BUT it also ties in with the hardware we have.

Another look that I love in kitchens that is decor and utility..hanging pots! I would kill for the layout of kitchens that allows pots to be hung off of a rack of some sort.

So tell me, do you have things hung up throughout your house that serve a double purpose? What are they? Maybe we can inspire each other with ideas!

Those are fantastic! They really mesh so well with your kitchen!

In my last apartment I put some vintage utensils on the wall around empty frames. Whenever I needed a measuring spoon, I could just reach for them on the wall! No digging through drawers! 🙂

Here is a post I did about it (the pics are terrible, but you can get the point…)

I don’t have the space for a hanging pot rack either, which is why this little beauty is in my future:

Your kitchen design ideas are superb. They seem simple but are very creative and helpful, specially hanging pots. Thanks for nice post. I look forward to more creative ideas!
