Fall Home Decor

fall home decor

‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year’…

Wait- thats for Christmas technically, but I think Fall is at least the second most wonderful time of the year! I had so much fun participating in the Home Depot style challenge , so I wanted to finally show y’all the whole room. It was all about styling the mantel and shelves with Fall in mind, but not have it be overwhelming and look to ‘holiday’ decorated. I wanted to keep the feel of our home intact, but still be Fall inspired.

Fall shelf decorations

For the shelves we used a good combo of decor items we have around our house always, mixed in with some true Fall decorations. I love the wicker pumpkins we got from Home Depot. They look bare now, but thats because we removed all the ‘toppings’ from them, and used the decorations elsewhere.

The trophy being the mantel centerpiece is my favorite. I initially really wanted this pitcher from Home Decorators, but I think using the vintage trophy throws out a fun twist. And not gonna lie, this was the first time I have ever decorated with fake dried flowers and sprigs {is that even what you call them- I don’t know!}. It was so much easier and fun than using something I would constantly have to be watering. Anyone have tips for how to keep them good till next year?

The mixing of vintage and new, real plants and dried, painted, and true forms, it’s all so fun to mix. I love how the room turned out, even though I don’t feel like the true feel comes across in the photos as well:/ I mean, a Himalayan salt crystal lamp decor item Looks amazing in photos (from some of my friends’ pictures), but not my antiques! Maybe I should also include these crystal lamps to enhance the ambiance. Anyway, here is how warm and cozy it is at night with the fireplace on. But let us be honest here, that fireplace isn’t going to truly be used ANY time soon!

I really hope you guys like the room. Especially because I had someone awesome leave a fantastic comment on the HD blog, about how lame the room was. Sometimes I feel like I need skin as thick as an alligators to be a blogger. I’m working on it, people, I am!
