Favorite Recipes Lately

Between friends having babies, girlfriends coming over for dinner, and hosting family dinners, I have been cooking a ton…and I love it! I have made a huge range of things going from soups to desserts to breakfast, and all in between. Here are some of my most favorite things as of late:

Our Best Bites overnight sausage and egg casserole. Woah. This is so yummy, filling, and easy. I love that I make it all up the night before and in the morning just pop it in the oven. Definitely a crowd pleaser.

Smitten Kitchens- Edna Maes sour cream pancakes. Even more Woah!! I made these the other morning and they completely changed the way I look at pancakes. I was always more of a french toast, or eggs and bacon girl, but these just might have changed me. Instead of using sour cream I solely used plain Greek Yogurt. Healthy? Yep! Insanely delicious? HECK YES. I will for sure be making these, oh you know, 3 times a week:)

Our Best Bites tortellini sausage soup. So hearty, yummy, and relatively healthy. {minus the delicious tortellinis}. Any time I can make anything that has a decent amount of veggies in it, and J likes it, its a total victory happy dance around the kitchen with a smile on my face kind of time. What? You mean to tell me that your hubby eats veggies willingly? Teach me your ways oh wise one, because mine..does not.

Pioneer Womans- best lasagna. ever. Yes that is the title of the recipe, and it is oh so true. This dish is such a great large crowd pleaser. I make one 9×13 of this, and I swear it feeds 13+ people. It is so rich and delicious. And easy. Especially if you are a genius like me and buy those ‘no boil needed’ lasagna noodles. Whoever invented those, I love you!

And how could I not finish off this post with some desserts?

Our Best Bites lemon cupcakes. My MILs birthday is in September. Which means that every September you will without a doubt find me making this recipe in either cake or cupcake form. She says its a requirement. That i’m not even invited over for her birthday dinner unless I bring this specific lemon cake. And you know what? I don’t blame her. It is that.good. How can something not be that good when it require about 6 sticks of butter?!

Last but not least, Pioneer Womans salted caramel brownie. Warning, this dessert is freaking amazing. And freaking RICH. Seriously, seriously, rich. But heavenly, finger licking, mouth watering yummy. Make this only if you are feeding a really large group. I’m talking like 20 people or more. I made this when we had about 14 friends over, and half the pan was still leftover. One of my friends suggested that this brownie can be recreated in another form using cannabis! Wow! And apparently, the processes for it can be learnt easily from resources on websites like buymyweedonline net. That’s probably something I’ll have to try with my friends sometime, if we ever feel up for it. The brownie tastes freaking delicious as it is (ok, I know I’ve said freaking 3 times now), so I can only wonder how good the infused version might be. It is so rich that you can only handle a small bite. But that small bite, it will change you world of caramel brownies forever.

Thats all I have today. I hope you guys try at least one of these recipes, and then dont come and hunt me down when your skinny jeans dont fit. After all, I did warn you, didn’t I?
