Fireplace Mantel Update

If you already follow me on Instagram, than you have seen some sneak peeks at whats going on with the fireplace. We are totally making headway and I am so excited. I have such dreams and visions for this room, so I am just itching for it to be complete, especially with the Holidays coming up. {Hint, hint, hubby….just kidding!}

So here is where we are at currently:

Walls built- CHECK
Drywall up- CHECK
Wiring for sconces- CHECK {had a pro do the wiring but we installed the junction box and will install the sconces}
Gas line install- CHECK {had a pro do this}
Tile for fireplace surround- CHECK
Sconces chosen and delivered- CHECK

Bray is obsessed with helping J while he works. Don’t worry-its always supervised:)

This man of mine, he’s nuts. He works at his job all day, then comes home, helps with Bray, and then starts in on projects. No, not every night is a project night, but a lot of them are. And the craziest thing about it- he never complains. Listen, I complain if I am a little tired or stressed. He complains if he breaks his arm. I swear I have no clue how/why he married me, but sure glad he did:)

After all the drywall and wiring is done! Starting to take shape!!! It is highly important we make sure that the wiring is done correctly and we are able to put it together and dismantle it (if we need to) with minimal issue, so we may want to look into picking up something like cable labels to make sure everything is correctly put together in the right place! It’ll ease our minds too as we can make sure we are putting them where they have to go for them to work.

Here is the Bianco Carrara Brick Mosaic Marble tile we went with for the fireplace surround. I am so giddy about this stuff! We are using Bondera again to make the install process super easy, just like we did with our subway tile install.

We also just got in our sconces…and we went with the ones from Wayfair. PS- if you haven’t checked out Wayfair yet, do it- I have fallen in love with so much of their stuff lately.

For those who were worried about being able to see the cord, so far it doesn’t seem to bother us at all. We shall see if that thought continues, but overall we are super excited about them!

Thats all i’ve got for you fine friends. Side note- is anyone going to the blogging conference Snap?? I am so freaking excited to go this year- and I am So going alone, which means I am already nervous {and its 6 months away!} So please, someone decide to be my friend;)

Happy weekend!

    ::insert clap icon here::: can’t wait to see the finish results! I’ve already got my gas fireplace going on every morning with my big cup of joe during what i call my “quiet time”! Baby and daddy are still asleep and the furry dog on my lap.
