Girls Night Out With A $150 Giveaway!

A few weeks ago I got to go out for a girls’ night {with Braylen in tow}, and it was a blast. We ended up at Applebee’s, and I was kinda nervous/excited to try it out. I had never been to the Applebee’s right by my house, and it turns out it had just been reopened from its remodel.
The place was so great. The bartenders were hilarious and totally personable, and the food and drinks were delicious. How can you go wrong with a big, cold glass of Blue Moon?! It was so nice to catch up with my mom, mother-in-law, and sister. Even though we are all family, they are also some of my best friends.
With life being so crazy for all of us, sometimes our interaction comes down to messaging back and forth on Facebook, or writing emails. There is something so much better, though, about being able to sit face-to-face and dive into what life has been like lately. It doesn’t hurt either when there is this happening during the whole thing:

We must have looked like quite the crew as well. Me being the typical swaying mom to keep the baby happy, which results in eating food in interesting ways:

We stuffed our faces with the awesome Appetizer Sampler, then moved on to individual entrees, and finished with dangerously good chocolate dessert:

Overall, we had a blast. It was a great spot for a girls’ night where you can either go casual or fancy. The staff was a blast, and the food was perfect. We all need girls’ {or guys’} nights every now and then, don’t we?

    The last time I was out for a girl’s night was 4 months ago with my mom and sister. It was more of a girl’s day filled with thrifting and yummy food. I am over due for one and would love a chance to win the Applebee’s gift card. With a 7 week old and a 4 year old, it’s important to go to Family Friendly places!

    i love applebees, there’s one across the street practically, so we’re there quite often. i don’t really have girls nights with a bunch of people, but one girlfriend and i have a standing lunch or dinner date every week, we’ve been doing this for probably…wow, 7 years. that’s kind of awesome, actually.

    Girls’ nights are the best! I try and have them as often as possible… although with everyone’s busy schedules it’s not always that easy. Winning this would be a great way to have another one! 😀

    My last girls night out was actually a (planned) girls weekend. There were 10 of us, and we traveled north to a hotel/casino for my 50th birthday! We had fun and won money!

    My last one was February 2003 with my Mom, my aunt and my grandma, both who came out from Alabama to visit. Why do I remember this so well you may ask? Because just a few days later my Mom, at age 65, passed away. I’m so happy that we all had one last chance to get together and share some laughs and wonderful memories.

    Last “girls night out” was actually an all-day event about a month ago. Relocated for work a couple of years ago, had to make new friends. Went on an all-day wine country tour with my new best girlfriends. Spent the day alternately talking, laughing and relaxing while tasting various wines, feasting on “small plates”, listening to local musicians and enjoying the beautiful, green countryside.

    Well, I don’t get out that much anymore since I had my son. My “last girls night out” was back in February. My mother and I decided to visit my sister in Austin, so really this was a few long needed nights out. We did a lot of sight seeing and ate some amazing Tex-Mex. My favorite part though was hanging out with my sister and my mom who have always been my best friends. We always got along but it seems as we’ve gotten older, it’s become just an incredible friendship.

    By the way–Amazing blog! I love the Scottsdale Mom’s Blog and found yours through that. You have an adorable son and I love reading your posts.

    i don’t think I’ve had a girls night since my son was born and he is four! no lie.. Its hard since I am a single parent, going to college, and in a student organization at school. I am definitely long overdue!!!

    The last girls night that I had out was in November. We all went out for massages (I had to pretend that my massage got canceled because I just found out I was pregnant and in my first trimester. Instead I got my nails done). Then we spent the evening bar hopping and at each place I requested that the bartender make me a virgin drink that looks real! I kept my pregnancy a secret the whole night ….. So difficult when all you want to do is tell everyone. Anyways, I am now 6 days overdue and I believe I will be needing a girls night out in the near future!

    I had a girls night out a week and a half ago when I took a long weekend off from work and visited a friend out of state. We actually had 2 girls nights out, back to back. That was great! Before that, it’s been like a year since I had a girls night out (or at least one that has nothing to do with work) way too long!

    The last time we had a just girls night was over a year ago when 5 of my crazy friends and I had dinner, wine and saw the Indigo Girls in concert. My recollects get a little hazy towards the end but according to the pictures we had a blast!

    I’m a working mom, so I cherish the time I get away from home with the girls…..often we just stay in at someone’s house, but I think it would be great to be able to go out and have other people prepare and clean for once!!!It’s been a while since our last time, and we are due!
