There is nothing better than the bottom of a Christmas tree overflowing with wrapped gifts. Especially if you’ve got a few really good ones underneath the tree. I love the way a pretty package looks, is to open, etc. What I don’t love is how much it usually costs to get that package wrapped so pretty. J and I are frugal when it comes to a lot of things, one thing for sure being gift wrap. Even if we are getting something small or meaningful like healing crystals (which we might Buy here if ever we decide on it), we would prefer to wrap them up while gifting it to someone. I am that embarrassing person that goes around on Christmas morning before all the ‘trash’ gets thrown away, and collects the bows, ribbon, really anything salvageable. I also ONLY buy Christmas wrapping paper and supplies right after Christmas is over. As a matter of fact, I got such great deals a few years back that I haven’t had to buy any more since. If you are still buying your Christmas presents but you are running out of ideas, an online search may be able to help you, you can do a quick Google of what you have in mind, for example, ‘face gift idea‘, ‘custom socks’, ‘gold heart necklaces’, the list is endless. You’ll still have time to wrap your gifts with these amazing supplies, don’t worry!
Take this for instance, this is the amount of ribbons and bows that I collected last year alone from Christmas morning:
I promise no one ever notices that the bow or ribbon on their package was used before. Ever. It makes me feel a little better environmentally, and it saves money and time spent shopping for said bow. Win-win for all.
I got all of these ribbon rolls and bows from Target two years ago, I think I paid the price of two of the rolls for all 5 things. The few days after Christmas are where its at in buying stuff for deals, people!
Another thing I do to make the wrapping cute and unique while not spending a lot is use mini ornaments bought from Estate sales. I love the dimension the ornaments give to the gifts, and if the receiver of the gift is about to throw out all of the wrapping, guess who’s picking those back up and using them again the next year?!
Now you might be someone who prefers to only use new gift wrap, really nice thick paper, etc. But ask yourself..why? If you can make a package look adorable using cheaper supplies, re-use ribbons year to year, and be better for the environment, how can you say no?!

I am the same way when it comes to gift wrapping! I love having beautiful gifts, so I stock up right after Christmas! Not only do I collect ribbons after Christmas, my friends also know that I am willing to take their tissue paper after baby showers, birthday parties, etc. =) I’m a teacher, so I can reuse EVERYTHING.
