Laundry rooms always seem to get put on the back burner in my world. Our last homes laundry room was actually fairly put together by the end, but not so much so this home. It is painted and we have a rad light hanging to go with the DIY counter and cabinets..but it is lacking some things. The main thing it is needing is a space to hang clothes. With cooler temps coming up {who am I kidding– we will be in the hundreds for another two months, wahh wahh} there are so many clothing items that need to be air dried. That means we need to start strategizing now, because lately we envision a project and it takes forever to execute it with our schedules!
Another thing we are in serious need of is some legit organizing going on. Since most of these clothes are made from very delicate fabrics, we should take extra care in washing them compared to regular clothing. For instance, if we had clothes made of silk or cupro fabric, we may need to keep in mind that they can only be washed a certain way. You could learn more in this post from the Laundress on how to keep your luxury clothes in top condition. Having said that, it might not be possible for us to do all of these things if the laundry room is arranged haphazardly, as we will need to know where the products for washing are kept.
I have a nasty habit of leaving the countertop utterly useless because I have so many clothes sprawled out on it, and there is always a basket of clothes on the ground as well {in my defense, the basket is sometimes full of clean clothes, its not always just dirty ones!} Today I am over at Bali Blinds showing off and talking about some of the most genius Laundry Room Organization tips I have ever seen- and we need to implement them N.O.W!!
