As we are making progress with the buildout of the fireplace mantle, I am now at the point where I get to think about the fun little details. With that comes the thought of the sconces that will be above the mantle {see our sketches of the room here}. Here are some of my thoughts of what I am wanting:
- Warm looking
- Classic {not something we will get tired of fast}
- Elegant

Both of the sizes work beautifully with the space, and they both have enough character for me to love them, and not be bored already;) So, what is your take? Do you like the first or the second one better? As always, I love getting your thoughts, it really does help out our decision making process, that is unless you dorks vote 50/50. Lets keep this vote to at least a 60/40 divide to really help me out:)

You can’t go wrong with either, but I like the first one a bit more.
second one!!!! totally goes with the rest of the stuff you’ve been picking out as far as pull handles and the cool door knobs you guys bought for the book shelves!
The first one has better proportions. The lamp shade looks better and is more elegant. The second one’s lamp shade is too far down on the lamp and should be flared slightly more.
I vote for the first one – I actually like the cleaner lines a little better!

The first one! They are both awesome, but it bothers me that you can see the cords in the second one.

I like the second one! But you need to keep in mind the size of these also. The second one is three inches taller and 2 inches wider and deeper. Will you have enough room on each side?
At first I was drawn to the second one, but upon reading other comments (about the cords, clean lines, etc.), I like the first one more. Both are classy!

I wish you couldn’t see the cord in the second because I like it more. The first is still pretty!

The first one is gorgeous!! The second one is a little too busy for my liking.
I want to vote for #2 because it has character. But yet, #1 is the winner for me. The cord on #2 would start to drive me bonkers after awhile.
