After having a certain bobbie light in the pantry room for months now, we finally found a replacement we love! The room is so tricky because it is a very slanted ceiling, and its super low, which together makes finding an appropriate light difficult. Here are the side by side views of the old light, and the new. We of course had to take a photo and compare them before taking down the old and installing the new.
We found the light at Lowes while picking up trim. Please tell me were not the only ones that find it impossible to go into a Home Depot or Lowes and actually walk out with solely what we went in for!? The best part of this light switcharoo is that we had the old boobie light for such a short time, that we were able to return it still, which made the difference of the lights a mere $5! Heck Yes!
Ok, can I rant for a second here? I absolutely think one of the most frustrating things ever is when products come with stickers that are impossible to come off clean. This light came with a sticker on the mirror part, the freaking mirror part…with an impossible sticker! I at first tried to simply scrape it off {which was pretty awkward considering we had already installed the light} and then had to resort to using Goo Gone {which, that product totally creeps me out- it can remove ANYTHING, so what the heck is it made of?!!?} And after applying and removing the Goo Gone twice, had to clean the mirror.
You see what i’m talking about, right? The impossible sticker…how I loathe them! |
Yes, we did use the automotive formula, its simply what we had on hand. |
Anyway, the sticker is off and the light is up and working {the other boobie light flickered..all the time..like a disco party in my pantry- kinda fun, kinda not!} I love the shadow it casts on the whole pantry. So pretty!
And because I know some of you will totally be like “gurrrlll, what is all the crap on your counters- you’re a slob” my simple rebuttal is: We are finally finishing the laundry room!!! Floors were finished today, and i’ll hopefully have some photos to show of it all soon!
Are you guys excited for me that I have one less bobbie light in the house now? I hope so- because I am jumping for joy!

I love it. I have a couple of boobie lights in my hallways and had never really thought to change them out. Hmmm, another thing on my list.

I have a ceiling fan that looks like that with a light beneath! After putting on an addition to the house we had numerous light fixtures to install and this was a last-min choice for a high ceiling..the fan has never been used-6yrs later it will be brought down this summer! Thx for sharing!

I just re-did my kitchen and the only thing that is original (besides the cupboards that we painted and the appliances) is the boobie light. I just haven’t been able to find one that I like – but I love yours 🙂 Especially when it is dark…

Your light looks great! We’re currently on the hunt for a replacement for the boobie light in our landing. A crystal fixture won’t work in our space, but looks great in yours. Love the shadows it makes!

I like buying inexpensive frames from places like Ross Dress for Less, but they ALWAYS put the pricetag right on the glass! Used to annoy the pants off of me until I discovered the magic of straight acetone on a cotton ball – a bottle from the drug store will last forever and the sticky crap comes right off! Hope that helps, your place looks awesome!

My mom recently purchased two boobie lights and I called them that and my family cracked up. I’m loving your new light though. I’m not sure if I would have liked it from the package, but I like it up on your ceiling!
