The Thankful Tree Fall Craft

First off, I am going to start by saying I am not dumb.  I fully realize this is not a full tree, or even something that looks like anything other than a branch:) But the concept is a tree “branch” where you can put on leaves of things you are thankful for.  You could keep this up year round, use it for the month of November, or do it like I am- have it out at Thanksgiving dinner and have each family member write what they are most thankful for.
Heres a simple rundown of how I put my together:
Our best friends the Durkins recently trimmed some tress, and I scored some of their branches {listen, in AZ, fun looking branches are NOT the norm- so I was excited!}.  I simply hot glued two branches together to make it longer and beefier.
I then busted out the worst can of white spray paint to ever freaking exist.  No joke.  This stuff splattered every.where. and never gave a smooth spray.  Note to self {unless this bottle just happened to suck way more than any other} do not buy Krylon Color Master, fast dry.  Sputtering and all {with annoyed face included} I painted the whole branch white.

And then to add a little flare, I taped off the ends, and ”dipped” sprayed them gold.  This can happened to be amazing, so maybe Krylon doesn’t suck in general?!

And that was that!  Once the paint dried I added Fall leaves with adorable little clothes pins. Trust me when I say you will not find these type of leaves cheaper than you do here! 120 leaves for like $12!  Now when Thanksgiving comes, as each person sits down they will attach their leaf with what they are most thankful for that year, and we will go over them after dinner.  I love taking time to really step back and think about all the things we have to be grateful for.

Do you have any traditions during Thanksgiving dinner?  Things that make you step back and focus on everything good?
