When I go to a shower of some sort, I can’t help but feel bad when the party favors are something that you can tell someone spent a decent amount of money on, and I know I will never use. My idea of a good party favor is either 1:food or 2:a practical item. For Melissas shower, we wanted to make a travel themed shower party favor. We found these adorable vintage luggage boxes floating around Pinterest and quickly decided- what do people use often that is the same shape? SOAP. Yes, a bar of freaking soap. Totally practical, albeit not too exciting. But thats the thing, I would rather know people will actually use it, and that I am not just throwing away my money:)
I got a great deal on the soaps from Amazon here. I got lucky with a friend already owning that great stamps I used, so that obviously saved some money. The white paper is simply from the roll of white paper on Brays play table {which reminds me, I cannot believe I haven’t showed y’all his table that J built yet, or the adorable mini Eames shell chairs with it!! Soon I will, I promise!}. And of course, the most amazing thing to happen to crafting in years, the gold tape is Washi tape.
Supplies:
-Soap
-Washi tape for the handle and detail
-White paper, or you could use kraft paper as well
-Stamps
To make them, simply wrap your bar of soap up in paper. For the washi tape I did about four different variations of detail, and then finished them all off with a stamp!
I ended up loving how these turned out. Super easy, super cheap, and totally practical for a bridal shower gift! And, the few that were left overs- well they will be put to good use around here too:)

i think that is ridiculously cute and creative. love anything travel themed!

Wondering if you could share how you wrapped the bars of soap! Did you cut squares and wrap them like gifts?
Also, did you wrap the tape in a full circle around the bar? I believe you may have, but just wanted to check.
Thanks!

Hi Sara,
I did just cut the paper to a big enough size to be able and completely cover the bar- much like a present. And yes- I wrapped the washi tape the full way around so that it showed well on all sides. Hope you like them:)
