This past weekend we had the awesome opportunity to head up North in AZ to a town called Overgaard. Never heard of it? Yeah, neither had we! But there is this amazing little spot called Bison Ranch there, and my Mother in law found it and fell in love. It is beyond adorable and the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with kids.
We went up with Jeremys whole family, and had the best time! Its so fun to see Braylen and our nephew T be just the best of buddies, and now Winston has a little girl cousin who is just 4 weeks older too! Love that they will all grow up together so close. The weekend was so nice, we got to spend time outside {with it not being 110+ degrees!!!}, watch the kids go crazy together, eat too much yummy food, visit the cute little candy and icecream store there, and fish. Bray had never gone fishing before and he loved it!
Being honest, I think he was just as interested and excited about the rubber fish things we used for bait as he was for the real thing, but either way he had fun. And Winston slept through it all, which meant that Jeremy and I had a few moments to just hang the two of us {thats what happens when you have the best grandparents and aunts and uncles surrounding Bray!}
The mornings were slow, with lots of babies being passed around and games being played, just the way we like it!
Overall, it still felt weird not getting to go to California this summer {I think this is the first year since I can even remember that I haven’t gone!} but this spot was just perfect for the exact stage of life we are in. Flying OR driving with a 2 year old and 6 week old just didn’t seem too fun, so this getaway that was only 2 1/2 hours away was perfect! AND we even got to sneak in some family photos. Thanks to my camera, a tripod, and beautiful overcast skies- we managed to get the whole family, and individual gamily shots done within 20 minutes! Totally a win in my book!
How precious are these sweet new baby cousins?!
And heres to the two people who made it all happen. You guys are the best in-laws a girl could ever ask for, and I am so thankful for you EVERY day. Braylen and Winston are beyond lucky to have you as their Papa and Nonni. We love you!
