He does it again!
We’ve been searching for new doors for what seems to feel like forever. I almost gave up and then hubby pulled it out of the bag! He found these amazing 1930’s doors at a garage sale down the street from us this weekend. I’ve always been obsessed with this style and it feels like such a relief to finally have some! Like he obsesses over thrones and other things, I have obsessed over wanting different doors in our house, specifically ones exactly like what he found on Saturday! They are perfect!AND they were $5 a piece!Holla {woah- I don’t even say holla, I guess thats how excited these doors make me!}
Now, don’t get me wrong, they need work. Lots of work. They need to be totally sanded down and repainted. And well heres the tricky thing…theres only five of them that will work in our house..{cough cough} we have seven doors. We figured out though that we will have four of them where the three bedrooms and bathroom are, and then other door will go to Eric’s {our friend living with us} room. That leaves his bathroom and the laundry with the old doors. Not perfect, but we sure will take it! Especially since we are {hoping,praying,wishing} planning on re-doing the kitchen some day and that will require us to move the laundry room all together. Also, I know the tag on the door might be confusing you because it says six doors and I told you we got five. Well, we did get all six but one is a super skinny random door, maybe I’ll make it in to a headboard or something fun.
I did say they needed some work, right?! |
Boomer helped too;) |
I will for sure keep updating y’all throughout the process. Sanding, painting, attempting to install them on our own, etc. I am just so excited to get these plain, cheap, boring doors out, and fun super old ones with incredible handles in!

Getting excited will make one say things like holla!
They are so dirty and old, and for that price? I mean holla!! Can’t wait to see what you do with them.
