Flip It Friday – Slump Block Ranch Final Reveal

Slump Block Ranch is finished. Out of all the flips we have done, this is one that I can honestly say- ‘why can’t we just move in?!’. This home is all things beautiful, classic, and airy. The space is perfect for a family, it is not only beautiful- but also functional. It is open concept, it is bright and airy, and every detail is thought through. I mean, it has a pass-through from the Master bedroom closet to the Laundry room! Whatt?! Ya, its dreamy!

In the next few weeks I am going to go in to detail on each space of the home, but for now- i’ll leave you with some incredible Before + Afters. Lets start with this, the first looks of Slump Block Ranch:

Talk about a stunner, right?! Ha, no the home was not a stunner at first, but of course my insanely talented hubby had a vision right away. He knew from the moment he entered what he wanted, and then he made it happen!!

We changed around the rooms a lot in this house, and took out a lot of walls- so bear with me when trying to figure out what the room was prior to our flip. Lets start with the Kitchen. At first, the kitchen was in the back of the house, small “U-shaped”, super awkward, kind of in a hallway- and not good looking. We decided to move the kitchen from the back of the house to the front and make it the focus of the living area, all while expanding it and making jaw-dropping. We demo’d the fireplace and interior walls and this was what we ended up with:

The kitchen has my heart. And my soul. It is good, it is SO good. It is large, but not obnoxious. It is super functional, and totally open to the rest of the living space. I am not gonna lie, there were many times I stood at that island and imagined hosting parties and living in it;) Then there is the main living space. We took out a lot of walls and a fireplace, and rearranged rooms in order to make this big living space happen. It was well worth it, don’t you think?

The fact that the Dining space, Living space, and Kitchen are all one is fabulous to me. You can be hosting a party, while still finishing up cooking, and catching the end of a game- all at once. Then lets go in to the Master bedroom and bathroom. This used to have a super small bathroom, and a funky set up. Now lets see it:

Every single inch of this home has been redone. New paint, new walls, new floors, new plumbing sourced from a website similar to callthegeneral.com, new electrical, new fixtures. It took us a while to complete this list of jobs, as we wanted to make sure that they were done properly and to our taste before thinking about other things, like the design. When it came to new plumbing, we decided to get professional plumbers in, similar to the plumbers around Erskine Park, as we know nothing about this area and we didn’t want to handle these issues ourselves, in case we created a bigger problem. At least this way we know that we shouldn’t have any problems concerning the plumbing as they took their time ensuring that everything was done correctly. Hiring a trustworthy Plumber was a great investment in terms of our finances, as working with water and plumbing is something neither of us are comfortable with. This was a huge weight off our minds, especially with all of the other aspects of the home that we’ve had redone. Because so much needed to be done, we decided to look into external toilet hire so the professionals could stay happy and healthy while they transformed our home so they would put in their best effort and I hear they did when we last spoke. In addition, with all that new, we wanted to make sure the house still felt warm and inviting. I think that is something that is easy to fall away from, but something super important to us. We want these houses to become a home! Here is the guest bathroom, in all its transformation glory:

So there it is. Slump Block Ranch in all its glory! Again, I will be going through each room in detail these next few weeks! I hope you fall in love with this home as much as we have. If only we were needing to move right now;) To see all the posts having to do with this flip, click on Slump Block Ranch in the Tags below! All home staging done by our talented friends over at Modern Manor! And thanks to John and Brynne for helping make this home happen! We have loved the whole process!

I have been reading your blog for years and especially love all the flips you have worked on recently. We are adding onto our house, and I knew instantly to look at Slump Block Ranch for inspiration. I’ve read and re-read all of your posts, but I can’t seem to find the paint color in the living area or master bath. Could you please share?
