Anyway, one huge improvement we made was the kitchen makeover, which was a much-awaited improvement. I mean, we spend most of the time in the kitchen. So, readers might understand the level of excitement we had for this one. We had beautiful cabinets installed and I love them every day. Buying a house is not something that you go into lightly, and in our line of work we know that to be true! That is why we wanted to make sure we were doing the best we could for our home and have it to suit our wants and needs. If you are in the same boat, then you may want to check out posts like 4 Questions to Ask Before Selling A Home or what to check out when you want to renovate your house to your specifications, these are just a couple of choices, but you’ll be able to whittle down what you need as time goes on.
2013 Year In Review
We also started the year still not living in the new house. Between the workers and us though, it was changing every day! However, the good news is that even though we were not living in the new house, it did not get damaged lying there all alone. I mean, when we made an occasional visit to the new house, we did not notice any part of our house needing repairs. Usually, if homeowners leave the eavestrough unattended for a long time, they get filled with dirt, leaves and whatnot. This might then require the homeowners to take up the task of deep cleaning. In the worst scenario, the uncleaned eavestrough might require repairs due to damage from the atrocities of nature, which might then require the owners to look for firms similar to Trades by Jack. I think that we were quite lucky!
Now, when it comes to buying a home, it is important to understand exactly what you need, as everything can feel quite overwhelming. First-time home buyers are sometimes wary of stepping into the market at all. That fear is quite natural. From location considerations, to the size of the house, to the overall condition of the house…every detail is important. Like, you might need to look at plumbing, roofing, or if the already existing wooden furnitures have a possibility of a termite infestation! The latter, if true, would definitely need the intervention of a professional Termite Control company to do some damage control.
Oh! and not to forget, the most important – finances! It is understandable if you cannot figure out everything on your own; we were like that too once. There’s always help if you look for it though – in the form of real estate agents, or mortgage brokers who can connect you with retail or jumbo wholesale lenders based on your requirements. Once you find professionals you can trust, the journey becomes easier and much more enjoyable.
The day we finally moved in, it was a good one!
To finally make the new cabinets fully functioning we installed some beautiful Restoration Hardware pulls and shared a little tutorial on how-to.
For probably the 1,000th time we came to y’all for advice. This time it was to try and figure out where exactly we should and shouldn’t install the subway tile in the kitchen. With your help, we went with just where the cabinets are, and not the wall. We also showed you the easiest tutorial ever on how to install it!
